Action Items

janina: start planning for TPAC

janina: especially with Summer vacations coming

Neil: are we worried about "variants" of TTS voices (especially for older engines)?

https://www.w3.org/TR/speech-synthesis11/

PaulG: our goal should be to preserve author intent in the markup and not rely on obscure posInteger attribute values as seen in "variant"

PaulG: some engines support something but it's not in the docs

Neil: I worry about getting really good TTS support for these things

NeilS: many TTS voices are very robotic sounding (required for high speed)

we may be able to map things like prosidy, tone, etc. to "child" where authors can define "child" or a set of feature mappings or default and it's up to the TTS engine to negotiate that

(reminder the alternate proposal draft is here: https://gist.github.com/AutoSponge/f68870d00b73eaccecb451eef4c3da1d)

janina: I'm working on my action items. I will update soon.
