Tutorial on tools for publication

Tools for W3C Spec Work

Chairs

McCool: "Team" is "W3C Team Staff", right?

Kaz: yes

McCool: should clarify "CG" and "WG/IG" also

Kaz: right
… will be mentioned later

McCool: "Liaison" might be a bit confusing

Kaz: that's relationship between W3C and other SDOs

McCool: e.g., person or organization?

Kaz: think we should use "liaison contact" for person in charge

McCool: right

Editors

Kaz: "Test Suites" mainly mean the ones for Web browsers
… so we should be careful

McCool: regarding ReSpec, had hard time
… maybe need SpecRef guide as well

ACTION: kaz to add info on SpecRef

McCool: what about decision process?

Kaz: maybe some info within best practices

McCool: how about continuous integration?
… testing and validation

Kaz: basics can be got from the Web Platform Testing
… but we need to think about how to apply/extend it for WoT
… that's part of the reasons I've been suggesting we generate a guideline for PlugFest/TestFest

McCool: right

Participants

Kaz: Policy, Process and Patent
… Calendars
… IRC tooling

McCool: good to have a consolidated page on IRC handling

ACTION: kaz to generate a one-pager on IRC referring to the detailed pages

Publication

McCool: wide review guide says we should start it right after FPWD
… not really aware how to use the GitHub labels for wide reviews
… would be better to mention on *-tracker labels and *-needs-resolution labels too

Kaz: ok

ACTION: kaz to add info on *tracker labels and *needs-resolution labels

Kaz: there is a note on how to generate a static HTML for publication

McCool: how to manage the Change Logs
… also at-risk items

Kaz: Change logs should be listed within Appendix
… and at-risk items should be listed within the Status section

McCool: yeah
… also security&privacy sections
… required by the wide review

Kaz: would make sense to mention those points explicitly

Wrap-up

McCool: good to add a link to these slides from the main wiki

ACTION: kaz to add a link to the slides to the main wiki

Daniel: good to have a link somewhere

McCool: maybe we can get some feedback from Lagally and Sebastian too

Kaz: ok
… can give present these slides during the main call too

McCool: yeah
… let's check with Lagally and Sebastian first

Kaz: agree
