announcement

Wilco has stepped down as co-chair, Jean-Yves is now co-chair with Carlos.

Call for review

<CarlosD> https://github.com/act-rules/act-rules.github.io/issues/461

Four 1-week calls; no 2-weeks ones.

1756 ended 3 weeks ago. Can be merged.

1731 and 1762 can also be merged.

Assigned issues

<CarlosD> https://github.com/act-rules/act-rules.github.io/issues/assigned/carlosapaduarte

Carlos: I moved forward on some, got some reviews.

Jean-Yves: not sure if we can repurpose existing example about lang attributes to also test case insensitivity, but probably no need to multiply examples anyway.

<CarlosD> https://github.com/act-rules/act-rules.github.io/issues/assigned/Jym77

Jean-Yves: the PR about dfn element could use some review of the JS code.

Daniel: working on the most recent issue; the other one, I haven't moved on.

<CarlosD> https://github.com/act-rules/act-rules.github.io/issues/assigned/daniel-montalvo

Helen: I am a bit nervous about taking issues.

Carlos: with use to have a "beginner issue" label, but we don't use it enough :-/

Helen: feel free to assig some easy issues to me.

Update from the ACT Task Force

Daniel: call for consensus on the changes to common aspects.
... discussion on the redesigned site. Hopefully, we're closed to that.

Helen: discussions on some rules need to go to AG.

Carlos: do we have a date for the redesigned website?

Daniel: no. Some bits are still missing.

Removing WCAG references

<CarlosD> https://github.com/act-rules/act-rules.github.io/pull/1748

Helen: when using aria-hidden, it tend to be 2.4.3 issues. Carlos thinks this still fail 4.1.2 and 1.3.1

Carlos: the rule pick every aria-hidden element and check they are out of tab order. It does not impact the tab order.

<ToddL> +1 with Carlos. Have to jump over to the other meeting for a bit. Be right back.

Jean-Yves: I agree with Carlos.

Helen: I have an exemple with a link inside a aria-hidden that is taken out of tab order.
... sorry, it also has tabindex=-1
... when it's keyboard and screen readers, I usually fails the problem under 2.4.3

Carlos: if you remove something from accessibility, it doesn't affect the order of the rest.

Jean-Yves: 2.4.3 refers to sequential navigation which is defined in term of keyboard.

Helen: OK. I'll delete that one.

<CarlosD> https://github.com/act-rules/act-rules.github.io/pull/1747

Helen: for this one, removing 1.3.1 needs some heavier cleaning in the rule. But some Assumption seem to indicate a case where we would fail 1.3.1 but not 1.3.3.
... I'll do the cleanup.

Show shared CSS/JS in rule pages

<CarlosD> https://github.com/act-rules/act-rules.github.io/issues/1777

<CarlosD> scribe: CarlosD

Jean-Yves: we have some rules that use external (to the rules file) assets in their test cases
... if you check the rule on the website there is no easy way to access these assets
... we should provide a way to access that content from the web page
... should it be visible on the web page (where?) or just provide links to the assets?
... this is an example of such a rule https://act-rules.github.io/rules/efbfc7

Helen: it would be nice to have a library of these assets

Jean-Yves: we try not to share these assets between rules to make sure an update to a rule does not break examples in other rules

<ToddL> I'm back

CarlosD: we all agree that giving access to these assets is a good move

Jean-Yves: we now need to decide where to place the assets or the links

Helen: I would prefer a link because the rules are already long

Jean-Yves: We can have them presented as an expandable summary

CarlosD: everyone agrees with the expandable solution

Jean-Yves: where do we place it?
... being expandable we can have it at the start

CarlosD: everyone agree to place at the top of the Test Cases section

Jean-Yves: will try it out with a couple of rules
