Meeting minutes

Minutes review

<kaz> Nov-16

Ege: Any objections or changes?
… no objections.

Contact information

https://github.com/w3c/wot-marketing/issues/192

Daniel: I also think the contact page needs some improvement.

Ege: I would propose to add the text from the github issue on the page.

ek creates a new issue #234

Article about Web of Things on embedded.com

Philipp: I have the opportunity to write some articles on embedded.com. And this would be the first one of a series. Just want to get some feedback.

Daniel: How can I contact you for changes?

Philipp: You can just edit it or make comments on it.

Ege: I will take a look into it until next week. Would like to see it before xmas. So that people are getting into it on xmas.

Kaz: We should have some kind of review process when we have communication as the group.

Philipp: This would be more of a private article. I just want to get some feedback on it.

Ege: We could have a link to the article on the working group page.

Philipp: We currently don't have links to article. That's something we can do.

Kaz: We don't have a documentation on how to implement the specifications.

Philipp: That's an interesting point.

Ege: We wanted to do tutorials on the TUM side. Maybe that is going to get into this direction.

Philipp: Let's revisit this topic when the TUM tutorials are there.

Wiki redesign

Ege: I think this is already done, more or less.

https://github.com/w3c/wot-marketing/issues/77

Daniel: I think we can close it.

Kaz: Just to make sure. We have a separate issue on adding concrete text on each TF's work. right?

Daniel: Yes, I think so.

Kaz: In that case closing it is fine.

how to address users on website

https://github.com/w3c/wot-marketing/issues/5

Ege: I think this topic is a bit vague.
… does anyone see how to bring this into a work item?

Daniel: If you take a look onto a new website we already address this. Business is kind of missing.

Philipp: A lot has changed since 2019. I think it mostly resolved, but we can ask Dave if he still see some issue there.

Daniel: or the other way around. Please reopen if you still see issues.

W3C on Wikipedia IoT page

https://github.com/w3c/wot-marketing/issues/94

Ege: We finally have a Thing Description wikipedia entry. The root issue is still not solved though. It still isn't listed on the IoT list page.

ek added a comment to #94

Community/Chats

https://github.com/w3c/wot-marketing/issues/146

Ege: My opinion is still that emailing lists are kind of old school and hard to maintain.

Kaz: As official channels it is too hard to maintain. Too many messages etc.

Ege: I think it has to be done besides the standardization work.
