Meeting minutes

tony: no meeting on the 20th

tony: we do have a joint session for TPAC
… oct. 27 is meeting with web payments

wendy: go to TPAC site and register.

<wseltzer> https://w3.org/TPAC

<nsteele> !!!

tony: where are we with the charter. We have support and formal objection

wendy: the formal objection is similar to those the same member has filed on other charters
… Team is asking TAG and Advisory Board as Council to help Director address objections

talked to...

John: when is the meeting to deal with objections?

wendy: no precise timeline for dealing with objections, but should get through before group's charter expires end of year

<wseltzer> https://www.w3.org/2002/09/wbs/33280/webauthn2021/results

agl: is there something to address in this working group

wendy: I put a link on IRC

wendy: we'll work to address so the group isn't held up.

agl: we can continue to work
… maybe we order some things.

wendy: seems reasonable.

tony: is there a response from Addison?

wendy: I can't find him online right now

tony: PRs

https://github.com/w3c/webauthn/pull/1668

tony: mostly I see agreement

jeffH: it is converging - not quite ready

jeffH: I will make last comment in PR and we can go from there

elundberg: yes.

https://github.com/w3c/webauthn/pull/1621

https://github.com/w3c/webauthn/pull/1425

still in progress.

https://github.com/w3c/webauthn/pull/1663

jeffH: in progress

tony: will we hit for Level 3

tony: untriaged
… issues

https://github.com/w3c/webauthn/issues/1672

shane: this came out of FIDO talk on accessibiliyt

jbradley: consumer deployment group at FIDO, doing accessibility review, web authn group has already been working on this
… question to this working group, do we want to do something about authenticator has accessible modalities.
… they would like to turn off some of the alternatives, but still waiting for clarity for ADA

agl: this is browser UI and not an issue, all UI goes those accessibility
… we want authenticators that can meet the needs of users.

jbradley: W3C takes a user angle on accessibility and accept Web Auth.

nsteele: implementation comes down to vendors.

jbradley: other question: form filling for pins

jbradley: by design form fillers can not do that
… answer to this is it is up to browsers

agl: yes. I am happy to have a dialog
… we test screen reader and should work with chrome UI
… I will craft an answer to this issue.

https://github.com/w3c/webauthn/issues/1667

tony: akshay is not on, skip

<dveditz> I apparently can't unmute, but Mozilla also has extensive accessibility testing for our dialogs and other browser UI

tony: list of open issues. are there ones we want to discuss

agl: I think in theory, our error behavior will match Microsoft #1637

tony: any other discussion items?

<wseltzer> [next regular meeting in 4 weeks]
