Agenda Review & Administrative Items

sajkaj: We have 3 pull requests.

User Generated https://www.w3.org/WAI/GL/task-forces/silver/wiki/User_Generated_Content

sajkaj: The editors' note has been rewritten but we don't know where it is to go. We want comments on it for the next working draft.

sajkaj: Moved glossary to the top for convenience. URI is the pull request. There will be annotation notes. Any addition to the glossary?

jeanne: Note - not a github pull request

sajkaj: Conformance section: pointer to the URI as before. Added one sentence and edited with Jeanne, otherwise the section is as it was.

<sajkaj> qack pet

<PeterKorn> https://www.w3.org/WAI/GL/task-forces/silver/wiki/User_Generated_Content

sajkaj: Outcomes and methods - "this is the section for..." has our third URI

sajkaj: I dropped the use cases. Don't think they add value for this round. Easy to put back if required.

<PeterKorn> +1 to include comments to blog posts

<jeanne> +1 - fixing

<PeterKorn> 1 to media as well

<PeterKorn> +1 I mean

JF: I have minor concerns there is a difference between a blog posting and comments to a blog posting. Captioning for media

sajkaj: there will be another proposal for multimedia

jeanne: JF has an important point uploaded personal video requires captions. Professionally produced media will be a different example

<PeterKorn> "uploaded videos, or other media"

<PeterKorn> and "blog postings, and blog comments"

jeanne: would prefer not to have blog postings as they are often an employee writing on behalf of the site owner.

PeterKorn: thinking of user generated that is more than just a comment

<JF> I am also concerned with the term "blog" as already being somewhat dated

<jeanne> blog post comments and social media posts

<PeterKorn> "social media posts, and comments on same"

PeterKorn: maybe the problem is blog. References social media posts.

<jeanne> social media posts and comments

PeterKorn: Suggests social media posts and related comments

sajkaj: remember these are examples

<PeterKorn> Examples of User Generated Content include: social media postings and comments, uploaded photographs, or uploaded videos or other multimedia.

<JF> +1

+1

sajkaj: might want to note all we address in this proposal is alternative text in terms of outcomes and methods. Media will be another proposal.

PeterKorn: Should we note this is not a complete list but a list of things that would improve your score?

<PeterKorn> The conformance score for the publisher of the user generated content will recognize the publishing doing increasing amounts of the following things:

<jeanne> The scoring system is being worked on, but we envision that the conformance score for the publisher of the user generated content will recognize the publishing doing increasing amounts of the previous list. </p>

<jeanne> To support users in creating accessible content, the publisher of the user generated content:

<PeterKorn> • If the repair attempt occurs during an authoring session, PROVIDES users have the opportunity to accept, modify, or reject the repair attempt prior to insertion of the text alternative into the content.

WBS Questions

PeterKorn: we didn't have enough background

jeanne: should we have a block of text?

sajkaj: these questions insteda of draft proposal

<PeterKorn> "On <date>, AGWG reviewed our draft proposal to address conformance for 3rd party content, and directed us to return to AGWG with a new proposal focused specifically on conformance for User Generated Content. We have done that, and this survey asks AGWG to

<PeterKorn> "review the <three?> key parts of that proposal, which are contained in pull requests: the definition of User Generated Content which is to go into the Glossary of WCAG 3, <blah>, and <blah>."

<jeanne> <p>This draft proposal is intended for upcoming WCAG 3 Working Draft publication. Various portions of this document are intended to go in different locations of WCAG 3 documents, including the Conformance Section, the Glossary, and a new outcome on alternative text. Those intended locations are called out in each section of the survey.</p>

<jeanne> <p>On <a href="https://www.w3.org/2021/07/13-ag-minutes.html#item02">13 July</a>, AGWG reviewed our draft proposal to address conformance for 3rd party content, and directed us to return to AGWG with a new proposal focused specifically on conformance for User Generated Content. This survey asks AGWG to review the <three> key parts of that proposal, which are contained in three places:

<jeanne> the definition of User Generated Content in the Glossary of WCAG 3, a new subscection of the Conformance section of WCAG 3, and an example of a new outcome, Text alternatives for user generated content. </p>
