Resolution: Accept minutes of last meeting

Meeting with Exchanges (FISD)

Ben: we met with exchanges, response was minimal for exchanges
… reported later ... this is going to happen
… we accept that the terms are going to be defined
… little appetite to engage
… will be customer led

(offline discussion as to value to exchanges)

FESE ESMA

Ben: ESMA has introduced guidelines - clear and accessible market data policies

<ben> https://www.esma.europa.eu/sites/default/files/library/esma70-156-4305_final_report_mifid_ii_mifir_obligations_on_market_data.pdf

Ben: trade body that represents most European exchanges has started to standarise terms for market data licenses
… not extensive but we will recognise most of the theirs, Ben has initiated discussions with them
… regarding alignment

PROPOSED RESOLUTION: We intend to seek alignment with FESE terminology

Caspar: we have a problem with the definition of derived dat ... too strict

<Caspar_MacRae> (e.g. inclusion of substitution restriction in the definition of derived data rather than as a restriction on the right to distribute derived data (this goes to our right to use derived data internally)

Action: ben to call side meeting to discuss terms proposed by FESE to find agreement between a primarily provider oriented view and a primarily consumer oriented

mark asks whether there is a US equivalent to FESE. Apparently it does not exist

Action: Mark to look at whether there is a North American equivalent to FESE

Identifiers

Caspar_MacRae: all paths seems to leid to iso, who are responsible for lea spec

iso responded to Caspar_MacRae questions about using lei

we had a to and fro about iso vs. iet standard. The gleif will seek to align between the 2

ben: we can adddress any iso code using existing rfc

Caspar_MacRae: confirms

Action: Caspar to post findings on id to list, especially the ability to reference ISO standards already

Caspar_MacRae: has some broad recommendations about IDs

Action: Caspar to report on versioning

ben: getting versioning right is critical

as new license types and use cases come in we don't want implementations breaking

for that we need a robust versioning system

ben: asks group to post versioning use cases on mailing list

Spec Review

jo_: asks if we need to repeat last week's event given the weak attendance

ben: more people needs to read the standard and identify where things are unclear or we need examples

that work can happen in the mailing list as well

ben: comments on the standard from the group needed

ben: standard seems on better shape than a month ago, but still encourages people to read and comment on the mailing list

FISD Meeting 2021-06-24

jo_: encourages people to sign up for the meeting

ben: about 230 people signed up. Good turnout, but high drop out rate is typical
