Meeting minutes

Task Force publication efforts.

jasonjgw: Open CFC on Making Content Useable

<Zakim> joconnor, you wanted to discuss timelines for XAUR and RAUR

jasonjgw: Open comments on XAUR and RAUR

joconnor: Several comments received which are useful

janina: Substantive changes due to comments may require runing another CFC

janina: Could be better to prioritize the RAUR first

joconnor: Will address the more straightforward comments first, then we can discuss the comments which require more substantive changes in following meetings...next week

janina: We can update the working draft first

<joconnor> +1 to Janina on focussing on RAUR first

janina: The XAUR may require a similar approach, but we should pus the RAUR first

joconnor: Some of the comments we received will also be useful in the NAUR, so keeping track of those

Accessibility of remote meetings.

jasonjgw: Thanks to Scott for his work on this

scott_h: Reworked the wiki structure

scott_h: Came down to 3 main sections - software, content and how to host meetings ; procurement was another aspect

scott_h: Looked at available terminology to better define concepts

scott_h: For instance, caption support needs to happen on all 3 cases: in the software itself, in the content that is shared, and how the host can enable them

scott_h: User focus also looked at roles: what the participants need to do and what the host needs to do

Judy: Thanks to Scott for this work

Judy: Saw the wiki as a gathering place to which another front end can be added, and consider Scott's work to be an important step towards creating that audience-focused friendly explanatory front end

Judy: There is a lot of flux in the use of definitions, so want to be conscious of this

Judy: Positioning of procurement - this could be potentially very important

Judy: Suggest focus on guidance which is more actionable and needs less technical knowledge to interpret

jasonjgw: Will take an action to take Scott's work and editorial suggestions made and turn into a parallel new wiki page

janina: Suggestion per the current rapid changing face of remote meetings

scott_h: Hybrid meetings are growing in common usage

janina: An inventory of what we need in remote meetings for accessibility -- i.e., signing

<Zakim> janina, you wanted to ask about user agent feature inventory

Judy: Essential that this document addresses hybrid and remote meetings, but this will likely introduce a higher-dimensional work

janina: The synchronization issue will be key as we move forward

Judy: Hybrid meeting guidance which is already available, new things we have learned after living with this reality due to COVID

<joconnor> JOC: There is a need to look at how W3C does research into a11y and support that

scott_h: Could tweak the current work to also include hybrid meetings

<janina> Also need to run a bit early ...

jasonjgw: Next meeting will likely require most of the focus on RAUR and XAUR
