Meeting minutes

Go through the pull request list

https://github.com/w3c/clreq/pull/338

[xfq introduces the pull request]

xfq: angel bracket is 《
… corner bracket is 「

xfq: OK to merge?

All: sounds good

Line Adjustment

https://github.com/w3c/clreq/issues/255

xfq: "Arabic numerals" should be changed to "European numerals"
… I'll send a PR

Go through the issue list

https://github.com/w3c/clreq/issues

https://github.com/w3c/clreq/issues/340

xfq: The first point looks like an error
… what about the second point?

Eric: I'm not sure if this is a MAY or a SHOULD/MUST
… no matter how the standard is written, in practice I think both are used
… we need to find examples

xfq: so we are looking for a vertical example from Mainland China that has angle brackets
… it's hard to find
… one reason for not using wavy low line may be that angle brackets are easier to type

Eric: I'll investigate

https://github.com/w3c/clreq/issues/339

[xfq introduces the issue]

Eric: GB/T 15834 is being revised

[Eric introduces the text in GB/T 15834 § 4.14]

Eric: 简体中文 should be 中国大陆
… interpuncts always take up half the space of a Hanzi in Mainland China
… not fullwidth, nor proportional

xfq: interpuncts in current Chinese fonts are proportional

Eric: This is a font problem
… and interpuncts in current Chinese fonts are not in the middle of a CJK embox, this is another problem
… 占一个汉字大小,可视情况改用半个汉字大小 can be deleted

xfq: I agree

Eric: There are Traditional Chinese books in Mainland China as well

xfq: maybe we can use the cmn-Hant-CN language tag for this
… zh-Hans-SG for Simplified Chinese in Singapore
… I'll send a PR

https://github.com/w3c/clreq/issues/330

xfq: Yijun has not responded yet. Should I remove this section for now? We can add it back if necessary.

Eric: I agree

https://github.com/w3c/clreq/issues/284

[Eric introduces the issue]

Eric: important content should be placed in the main text instead of notes
