Patent Policy
<RiccardoAlbertoni> https://
Riccardo: Decision on whether or not to adopt the new patent policy as discussed in the last plenary ( https://
… [ summarizing Peter's email]
… 2 options: adopt now (will require rejoining), or do nothing (wait for 2022)
… questions?
Andrea: did not get feedback from the Group so far
Riccardo: we can assume that people would complain if they had concerns
… can we still do the living standard if we don't switch to new PP?
plh: yes, but you wouldn't get the RF license
Riccardo: that's a bummer
Andrea: what is the impact on the FPWD?
plh: deadline is November 27
Andrea: fine to have a resolution now and allow people to pushback if they'd like
Rachel: reviewing the minutes from last minutes. did we check with the conneg people?
… Rob wasn't sure we can make the switch
Plh: better be safe than sorry here.
Riccardo: by end of year, we need to publish the FPWD for DCAT
Plh: don't make that contingent on the patent policy switch
<RiccardoAlbertoni> The group accepts the inclusion of the new patent policy (https://
(draft proposal)
Andrea: not sure if we can vote for that. we'll need more time
Riccardo: let's not call the question
… and we can revisit in 6 months
[postponed]

FPWD for DCAT
<RiccardoAlbertoni> ( see https://
Riccardo: we have new sections on versioning and dataset series
… we asked for feedback since mid-October
… got some
… we'd like to publish the FPWD for DCAT to collect further feedback
… no harm in publishing
… we included issues in the draft as well
Andrea: new sections are more proposals at this time
… trying to address all of the issues that have been raised but not set in stone
… we tried to propose solutions
… it's preliminary work
… some aspects still need discussion
… and some are controversial
… we can revise those sections dramatically in the future
… approving the publication of the FPWD doesn't make it final
Rachel: following the comments and should be able to comment in the future
<RiccardoAlbertoni> Proposed: to publish the FPWD for DCAT 3
