Agenda topics

https://homepages.cwi.nl/~steven/forms/examples/minutes/all.xhtml

Steven: I've added topics back from 2010, up to today.

Proposal for an XDM tree builder library

https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-xformsusers/2020Oct/0012

Steven: I think if this is going forward, we should make sure we are represented.

Erik: It's not very complex, it is a superset of what we have.
... ,. the signature is pretty straightforward.
... I agree that they know what we've done.

<scribe> ACTION: Steven to talk to Michael Kaye about the XDM library

<trackbot> Created ACTION-2291 - Talk to michael kaye about the xdm library [on Steven Pemberton - due 2020-11-20].

Alain: There seems to be a syntactic conflict between XQuery and XPath

Eric: The split between those two has already been odd
... for instance LET

Alain: XSLT has an XML notation and uses XPath, to avoid conflicts it was right to add constructs to XSLT and not XPath.
... I don't like the difference between XPath and XQuery

ACTION-2290: Find "submission everywhere" [Erik]

https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-xformsusers/2020Oct/0010

Erik: I started looking, thought I had found something.

It's not exactly what I was looking for

<ebruchez_> https://www.w3.org/MarkUp/Forms/wiki/Submission_Embedding

scribe: there is more somewhere.
... this includes merging submission and load.
... I'm sure there was another task.

Steven: We could look in the past actions.
... I'll take a look this week, and we can talk next week.

Alain: From XQuery point of view, sending xml is a function as an extnesion.

Steven: There is a difference for us, that it is asynchronous,
... but it would be good to combine things that are the same.

AOB

Alain: I've been looking at your tutorial
... I was disturbed by how whitespace is controlled between input and triggers.
... typically with the tabs, when I was testing it with the next XSLTForms, I was disturbed by the difference in whitespace, because of indentation.

Steven: I did have to fight with whitespace when writing it.

Alain: It could be because XForms controls are default inline, so that HTML embedding rules work.
... maybe we should add text to the spec to warn.
... the transform removes whitespace.

Steven: It is tricky.

Alain: Erik, have you tried the XForms tutorial? I'd be interested to see the rendering.

Erik: I could try.
