Agenda Review & Announcements

<paul_grenier> janina: w3c is creating co-chairs across all groups

technical approach

<paul_grenier> irfan: discussions from last week's APA meeting were summarized in the email

<paul_grenier> janina: we must include the wider community for any decisions going forward, we won't be able to finish by August, we need coordination with wicg, TAG, and WHATWG. We will need to engage Joanie about the (axTree) bridge for AT pronunciation.

<paul_grenier> mhakkinen: do we have a different approach for that is it still just a difference in DOM implementation?

<paul_grenier> janina: we're not sure, if it's the same that's good news.

<paul_grenier> mhakkinen: previous discussions from TPAC seemed to indicate it wouldn't make a difference, but we'll need to revisit it.

<paul_grenier> mhakkinen: we should create HTML pages in github with the different approaches to people can see the examples clearly.

<paul_grenier> Peter: we could contribute examples pages

<paul_grenier> janina: someone will need to mark up the example with the inline SSML approach

<paul_grenier> janina: a three-minute video could help

<paul_grenier> mhakkinen: unfortunately, the inline example will not be demoable in AT

<paul_grenier> janina: putting as much "show" to it as possible will have more impact on wicg and other groups

<paul_grenier> mhakkinen: to create a demo by the end of September, we could build an Alexa demo

<paul_grenier> paul_grenier: I can help with the coding tasks for the demo

<paul_grenier> mhakkinen: tasks: Peter will provide samples, someone else will need to convert to inline SSML

<Irfan> ACTION: Paul to create alexa demo

Other Business

<paul_grenier> janina: it's best if we can highlight all of the aspects of AT we're trying to solve: Braille, magnification, pronunciation...

<paul_grenier> irfan: let's create the examples first and then get comments from the browser and AT vendors
