Test Suite and server

Steven: Version 0.4 is posted.

Spaces in URIs

https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-xformsusers/2020Jun/0006

Steven: Should we require + or make it an option with %20?

<ebruchez> https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTTP/Methods/POST

Steven: I feel we should accept both really

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/1634271/url-encoding-the-space-character-or-20

"This boils down to:

You should have %20 before the ? and + after."

Erik: I don't know.

Steven: I'll leave it now, and we can discuss next time.

ACTION-2274: Suggest function grouping [Erik]

https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-xformsusers/2020Feb/0020

https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-xformsusers/2020Jul/0001

Steven: Thanks for this.
... I'm not sure if "deprecated" is a good grouping.

Erik: choose() is not deprecated at present.
... I would, except for XPath 1.0 support
... if then else is better.
... but I'd be happy putting them elsewhere
... XPath 3.1 does a similar categorisation

Steven: I think it's good like this.

<scribe> ACTION: Steven to implement Erik's function categorisation

<trackbot> Created ACTION-2285 - Implement erik's function categorisation [on Steven Pemberton - due 2020-07-10].

Steven: I think choose() is harmless.
... and gives us compatibility over versions.

Erik: XPath 1.0 requires it.
... we should just explain why we (still) have it.

<ebruchez> https://www.w3.org/community/xformsusers/wiki/XPath_Expressions_Module#The_choose.28.29_Function

Steven: DId we introduce if(). Oh yes.

Erik: It's not there now, already deprecated in 1.1

Steven: Do we remove it, or keep it deprecated?

Erik: We could remove it.
... maybe we already did.

Alain: if was deprecated, not choose.

Steven: Right.

Erik: XPath 2 may not allow a function called if, because it's a keyword
... if we keep choose we need to explain why.

RESOLUTION: deprecate choose()

<scribe> ACTION: Steven to deprecate choose()

<trackbot> Created ACTION-2286 - Deprecate choose() [on Steven Pemberton - due 2020-07-10].
