APG WG "Get Better" plan

Focus on closing issues rather than spend time to meetings

MCK: plan to work on APG multiple issues during APG break.

Car: sounds good. I am also swamped with work and more.

jon: how will this help to merge PR?

mck: I can spend 30 hours for the merge and more
... if we need consensus from the group, we can schedule the meeting.
... give meeting time back to members so that they can finish the review.
... I can also use some resources from Bocoup to review on testing and visual review

jon: we have multiple testing problems based on type of local machine settings.

mck: I will seek help from Valerie on that.

jon: testing problem is mainly for color contrast test.
... end and home key are weired one in testing, three are find and the third one fails.

jemma: the recorded issues are #1400 and #1392

mck: I would like to propose to meet July 7 and July 21.
... we won't be releasing before July 14.
... we want to merge anything and discuss any pending items for on July 7
... two meeting breaks on June 23, June 30.

car: it sounds good. please let me know if you need any review.

siri: I am also happy to review accessiblity, visual design.

https://github.com/w3c/aria-practices/pulls?q=is%3Apr+is%3Aopen++sort%3Aupdated-desc

mck: I will go through issues and organize the way reflecting the priority(ex: combobox picker)

and inform missing compoents.

mck: in summary, next meeting will be on July 7 and July 21

Collaboration with other groups

mck: Exploring joint task force with WAI Education and Outreach Working Group centered around

https://github.com/w3c/wai-wcag-supporting-documents-redesign/wiki/Requirements-Analysis#scope

ultimate goal is stopping being a giant APG notes

make it more usable.

this may be 2021 goal but we want to start planning from now on.

mck: do you have any concerns, feedback and more?

car: will continute to present as Note?

mck: it will be w3c website, design and engineering focused, rather than conformance and procedual documents.

wcag techniques will be the similar way which focus on how to code things.

jon: what is the relationship with wcag and Educatio outreach working group?
... have concerns regarding watering down ARIA technique (ex: landmark example) with something not absolutely necessary.

mck: collaboration idea is about wcag and EOW guidance orginates from 1) it has aria info, 2) better visibility with user traffice(MDN site hits)

s/educatio/Education

jon: unified vocie form w3c would help

https://github.com/w3c/aria-practices/issues/1422

mck: open UI seems to be alligned with having good accessiblity tree, AOM project.

jon: it seems that microsoft centric group for now.

Review Open pull request

https://github.com/w3c/aria-practices/pulls?q=is%3Apr+is%3Aopen++sort%3Aupdated-desc

mck: Hopefully we can move onto the APG site with EOW near the end of 2021 - rought time frame.

jon: I am hiring students to go through examples with color constrast audit and more.

mck: we can also coordinate the audit plans.

jon: tree and slider examples are priorites for color constrast updates, svg and more.
... 2 or 3 exmple update are coming.

mck: I will take care of 3 infrastructure, 3 top issues and Valerie will look into testing module. I will also link slider example to the apg
... mck: we will meet on July 7 meeting and expect asynchronos work during the break.
