<janina> Anyone on Zoom yet?

<jasonjgw> Yes, I'm on Zoom.

<Judy> [JB sends partial regrets due to an overlapping meeting]

Open XAUR issues.

Item #76

Josh: relates to 78 as well...covered last week
... idea is that information on positioning and size of an object can be gleaned by the user
... commenter mentioned examples like how far from the ground an object was positioned, etc.

<Joshue108> https://github.com/w3c/apa/issues/76

<Joshue108> Ability to control object information announcement #76

Josh: but commenter thought this information should only be available upon being queried

Jason: need to consider that too much information can become overwhelming

Josh: may be dependent upon time, place and circumstance...some information will be more vital
... no need to specify anything beyond details of interaction, affordances, and so forth

<Joshue108> This goes back to semantics and scene graphs.

Jason: need for priorities in filtering capability and ability for user to query for additional detail

Item 74

https://github.com/w3c/apa/issues/74

<Joshue108> 4.7 Color changes: use texture or shapes in addition to colors #74

Josh: commenter stated best practices for using shapes in addition to color

<Joshue108> https://material.io/design/usability/accessibility.html#color-and-contrast

<Joshue108> https://www.brandeis.edu/web-accessibility/understanding/color.html

Josh: some examples mention other visual cues can be used beyond color, such as patterns and textures to distinguish elements

Janina: may need to look at work now being done around low-vision accessibility

<Joshue108> SIM Daltonism https://michelf.ca/projects/sim-daltonism/

<Joshue108> https://michelf.ca/projects/sim-daltonism/

Possibility of user tweaking of color combinations to match the user's ability to discriminate colors

https://github.com/w3c/apa/issues/53 Usability and affordances examples? #53

Josh: commenter wondered if we were trying to extend access elements of the physical world into the virtual world...we believe this is important

Jason: moving of virtual objects by appropriate access techniques

<Joshue108> Janinas example is talking about mirroring the world to users of AT.

Jason: using a DOM tree will reflect the virtual scene
... alternative input method support (limitations with fine motor control)...switch user, speech input, etc

Josh: modality translation...e.g., sonification version compared to visual version

Accessibility of remote meetings.

Need to discuss RTC comments over mailing list

<Joshue108> Janina to follow on Josh's original RTC draft for the A11y of remote meetings doc. Judy to review.
