Resolution: accept minutes of previous meeting (04/14)
DCAT
Caroline_: there was a meeting of DCAT subgroup; another meeting next week; meeting every 2 weeks
AndreaPerego: yes, meeting every two weeks; discussed what are the main issues, like requirements not yet addressed
… also subsetting, versioning. starting to discuss on github
Caroline_: on minutes, is there a paper being written by Riccardo?
AndreaPerego: yes, this is a side work, we will move on with paper but still discussing where to publish it
… will target different publics; should it be technical? or have a more high-level approach? to target a different audience
… yes, this is about DCAT version 2
Caroline_: should we try to get more people to work on DCAT? is that a goal?
AndreaPerego: not sure; just discussed paper so perhaps, depending on shape paper takes
… haven't fully discussed this
Caroline_: but DCAT in general?
AndreaPerego: yes, one issue is in the last call the only folks were the current editors; would be good to have people involved in other deliverables
… since not everyone attends all calls
kcoyle: good to expand beyond group; larger community
annette_g: US call to support FAIR in national labs
<annette_g> in particular, for AI
annette_g: added to discussion about scope
annette_g: first step would be to gather use cases from that effort; experimental facilities (AI)
… some use cases come forward when writing proposals for this effort
… such as creating benchmarks; which could be reproducible. capture datasets and model, could be a nice bundle
<AndreaPerego> RDA FAIR Data Maturity Model WG: https://www.rd-alliance.org/groups/fair-data-maturity-model-wg
<AndreaPerego> And on Github: https://github.com/RDA-FAIR/FAIR-data-maturity-model-WG
AndreaPerego: on this specific topic; there is a group in the research data alliance (link above)
… to make research data more shareable. trying to define criteria for assessing maturity level of data compared to FAIR
… this could be relevant for us. They will define a framework. Will be a form for open data to give information related to FAIR
… an issue relating to FAIR, talking about metadata schemas related to FAIR, but this is difficult for metadata
… so they are working on this; not clear what makes a metadata schema compatible with FAIR
… Makx is in touch with this group; maybe he can report on progress
Caroline_: could you write Makx an email?
annette_g: I will do that
Action: annette_g to write an email to makx about RDA and FAIR
<trackbot> Created ACTION-419 - Write an email to makx about rda and fair [on Annette Greiner - due 2020-04-28].
AndreaPerego: FAIR in relation to AI; one thing missing is whether datasets are "ready" for machine-learning - could DCAT address this?
annette_g: Yes, anything that is relevant to AI work should be included
AndreaPerego: need to publish data about how it can be used for training; level of bias; compatibility to other sources
<Caroline_> http://fates.isti.cnr.it/index.php/program/
Caroline_: yesterday had a meeting about this; first session was about bias and use of data; think about if DCAT can be used
… video is there and papers will be there soon
AndreaPerego: this workshop was by the organization that Riccardo works in (CNR)
Caroline_: I was also part of that; what we have now is papers with some solutions proposed; maybe could use this for this work
… presentations are short, although some papers are long
AndreaPerego: this institute is in Pisa, not in Genoa, but Riccardo will know how to get in touch with these people

Conneg & Prof
Caroline_: we don't have anyone on the call who can do this
… looking at open action items from last call... folks are not here
Caroline_: adjourn early?
All: yes!
Caroline_: adjourned!
