Chair

Set agendas, coordinates with W3C Team and other W3C Working Groups as needed, maintains Group Process & Organization

Team Contact

Technical coordination, Assist Group Chairs, Monitor group participation and operations, Serve as Contact with W3C Team, Represents the views of the Team to the Working group.

Group Communications

• Most of the work is done through GitHub nowadays
• Group have zero or more teleconferences per week, or face-to-face per year
• Chat/Messaging: IRC, slack

GitHub

• Link your W3C account with your GitHub
• Find the repositories associated with your Group
• Configure your notifications:
  • deactivate automatic watching
  • pick email and/or web notifications
• Set up two-factor authentification
• Watch specific repositories
• Manage your assigned issues
• If you picked email notification, filter the emails for your own stroke-dashoffset

• Facilitate Group decisions by supporting resolutions :+1:

Teleconferences

• Find the agenda(s) of your Group (homepage, mailing list, etc.)
• Find the minutes of your Group
• Some Groups do record (audio/video) their calls
• Frequency varies between Groups (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, etc.)
• Tools: WebEx, Zoom, Hangout, etc.
• Timezones: reach out to your Chair(s)/Team Contact(s)

Chat/Messaging

• Mailing lists (make sure you're properly subscribe to them)
• IRC
• Slack
• Twitter

Reminders

• Participate!
  • There is NO stupid question
  • There are several ways to contribute
• Be respectful and never assume ill-intent
• When in doubt, ask the team contact
