Judy: Any upcoming announcements or publications? Any plans for December 3rd disability day?

James: We have a working draft being prepared for publication.

Judy: Any idea of target date?

James: When Michael has it ready.

Judy: Will check in with Michael to get a date.
... anyone else in the pipeline that would be announcement worthy for Tuesday December 3rd? It increases visibility on the work here as well as specific deliverables. Always good to get more attention on the work going on.

CSUN WG & F2F meetings, presentations

Judy: Some groups are considering face to face meetings at CSUN during the pre conference days. I think there are some groups going to be checking in. Does anyone have any updates?
... we can't offer rooms this time. You have to handle your host arrangements differently. Any updates?

<jamesn> ARIA will not be meeting at CSUN

Rachael: COGA is considering having a face to face. Will make a decision by this Thursday.

Judy: Will you please drop me a note? There is no automatic hosting or room arranged. I can talk to you and Lisa as needed to help as needed but want to make sure you know rooms are not reserved up front.

Rachael: Yes, can let you know.

Judy: I can also advise on what is available. Anyone else have updates?

James: ARIA will not be meeting.

Judy: So you had been considering it but this is a definite no? Just confirming.

James: Correct, our group decided not to.

Judy: Anyone else?

Janina: Pronounciation taskforce in ADA is likely to have a face to face but not at CSUN. Likely around a different conference.

Judy: Anything else on face-to-face meetings or CSUN?

Janina: We did think new facility was more affordable than previous space.

Update: Inclusive Design for Immersive Web Workshop, report

<kim_patch> Judy: It seemed to be very well received. There were very good speakers throughout. Lots of information being shared

<kim_patch> Judy: Very strong interest in the VR or more probably XR in trying to get accessibility right

<kim_patch> Judy: there were presentations, overview of different user needs, requirements, early stages of discussions coming together on that

<kim_patch> Judy: Presentations on blindness or low vision issues including Rochester Institute of technology on point of regard and cognitive load

<kim_patch> Judy: discussions about the standard landscape, web states and beyond that relate to how you bring in the different inputs to make VR accessible

<kim_patch> Judy: also discussion toward the end about all the different places in W3C where work was going on related to XR in some way

<kim_patch> Judy: Dominic gave talk, slides – more than a dozen ways accessibility can be useful

<kim_patch> Judy: time text working group working on synchronization of captions, 2D 3D, eventually immersive – community caption community group – all these different places

<jamesn> are there minutes? and if so where are they.

<kim_patch> Judy: maybe 40, 50 people there, a lot of them are looking for groups to join.

<kim_patch> Judy: hoping Dom can help with that. When I was looking at working groups it was difficult to figure out current work

<kim_patch> Judy: sometime in the next month or so there will be a report

<kim_patch> James: where are the minutes of these meetings so we can take a look at them?

<kim_patch> Judy: I have not sorted out with Dom exactly what he intends, but we had streaming captions, so we had near verbatim captions for most of the two days. I don't know if that will be available but there will be a work shop report and some back end detail to that somehow

<kim_patch> Judy: with regard to communication accommodations – W3C events should always be accessible

<kim_patch> some of the tools are of concern – github and WebEx

<kim_patch> Judy: we identified a new WebEx concern in the meeting. Slides are document view dominates the other channels,you can hack it a bit, but it shrinks the interpreting to a non-useful thing.

<kim_patch> Judy: this is on top of many other bugs, have reported this. But I'm trying to see if we can move to Zoom

<kim_patch> Judy: James I don't think that's even your preference

<kim_patch> James: I don't care, anything but WebEx

<kim_patch> Judy: seem to have some difficulty integrating streaming captions, but the reason it broke then has to do with obscure things with the audio interface

<kim_patch> Judy: sorry it's taking a while to shift

ACT Rules Format 1.0, uptake, getting the message out

<kim_patch> Judy: Act Rules format 1.0 is out. Shadi has been triple tasking lately – hoping that other folks can share that this is out. In the end we expect that this will in proof the precision and quality in the field of conformance testing for AGWG and potentially allow people to share repositories with better syntax and down the road support automation of more accessibility conformance testing and integration of or just leveraging of machine learning in that

<kim_patch> Judy: that's happening anyway in some of the larger accessibility

<kim_patch> Judy: good talking points be useful to help spread the word on that?

AG WG charter review, update, potentially pending issues

<kim_patch> Judy: quick update – just so people are aware of discussions and interest

Judy: Some objections around the scope of AG and Silver work so we are continuing to work on the charter. Proposed changes to date have been reported to those orgs that participate.

Kim: The talking points for things like that are always useful.

Judy: That is good to know so it helps prioritize.

Community Groups check-in with APA

Rachael: I find talking points useful as well.

Judy: We've been working this a while. Becky's been working through it. Janina, do you have anything in a distilled form on groups that are good to cover?

Janina: No, it's been supersceded by a detailed html review the past few weeks so we haven't gotten that done.

Judy: It is a priority. Do you have a timeline?

Janina: December likely.

Judy: Can we try a different approach where you bring forth a single community group each meeting to discuss?
... I can do one next week on immersive captions but can APA bring anything?

Janina: We haven't come up with a procedure to bring things forward iteratively. That makes sense.

Judy: Lets take that conversation offline. Can we talk about it after this call?

Janina: agreement. Nothing else on community groups.

Judy: I believe that takes care of everything formal. Any information sharing, news, or other items before we close?
