actions: See https://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/cognitive-a11y-tf/wiki/PlanningPage

Lisa & Rachel agree: Rachel will do a list of patterns.

<johnkirkwood> due to a schedule issue unable to call in at this moment

I bet I'm misspelling "Rachel".

Anybody, such as Rachel, want to tell me how to spell Rachel?

Ah ha! Rachael it is!

Lisa: I will review Content Usable.

Lisa suggests to John R that he create a plain-language summary of patterns.

<LisaSeemanKest> sugestion we have an easy reading summary of each objective for https://raw.githack.com/w3c/coga/design-doc-transfer/design/index.html#pattern-make-the-purpose-of-your-page-clear

John R: I will either do it or let Lisa know when I can do it.

Lisa: I suggest John R create a plain-language summary with the objectives.

patterns updates

<LisaSeemanKest> Web pages? https://w3c.github.io/wai-coga/coga-draft/guide/ [from LisaSeemanKest]

Rachael: I would like to review the 2.2 techniques.

wcag 2.2

<LisaSeemanKest> https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-cognitive-a11y-tf/2019May/0052.html

Rachael: Does the group prefer we get Important Content into 2.2 or concentrate on Essential Controls?

<LisaSeemanKest> Essential controls are prominent and visible without scrolling in the main modalities of the content.

Rachael: "Essential" is pulled from an existing definition, which makes it easier.

Lisa: I would like to hear what Jamie and other people think.

Rachael: The challenge with Important Content is determining what is important.

<LisaSeemanKest> if removed, would fundamentally change the information or functionality of the content, and information and functionality cannot be achieved in another way that would conform

Note: The preceeding text is the definition of "essential."

John K: "Essential" is easier to define than "important."

Rachael: John K discusses "purpose of a page."

Lisa: ... Perhaps "important" is best defined with safety.
... Suggestion is to split important and essential, perhaps in regard to safety.

<johnkirkwood> "able to access essential functions" of website?

Rachel: I think we have a gap regarding content in 2.1: I don't think that there's an

SC that is programattically determinable.

Rachael: I could merge importance and essential so SC comes in at AA.

John K: Is "essential" related to being able to implement?

Lisa: How's Accessible Authentication SC going?

John R: It's stalled. I will try to get it moving again.

Lisa, we can hear you intermittently.
