Meeting minutes

<PWinstanley> proposed: accept minutes https://‌www.w3.org/‌2019/‌05/‌21-dxwg-minutes

<riccardoAlbertoni> 0 (i was not present)

DaveBrowning: Some of the actions were mis-aligned, but we have resolved that

<ncar> 0 (not present)

+1

<PWinstanley> +1

<roba> +1

<annette_g> +1

<alejandra> 0 (not present)

Resolved: accept minutes https://‌www.w3.org/‌2019/‌05/‌21-dxwg-minutes

open action items

<PWinstanley> https://‌www.w3.org/‌2017/‌dxwg/‌track/‌actions/‌open

PWinstanley: action 329 - ongoing - no automatic process, so am writing a blog entry
… action 330 - notifying community groups of wide review (as per other actions)

current position of WG

PWinstanley: Extension requested, being handled by Philippe
… Need something about profiles, but question is what can be done. Conneg (and DCAT) do need a 'cite-able' reference
… perhaps that would give a kick start to 'evergreen' work, but this needs discussion
… Needs discussion before formulating a way forward

alejandra: Is there substance to the 'evergreen' process - how defined is it?

There are some words at https://‌www.w3.org/‌wiki/‌Evergreen_Standards

PWinstanley: Existing W3 process is 'chunky' - waterfall - evergreen tries to get round that

<alejandra> thanks, Dave

roba: Do need a firm profile definition or conneg becomes not much of a solution. Also addresses fine grained semantics requirements in DCAT

next steps with conneg

ncar: have a longish list of requirements/comments/issues - work through them. Not clear how long this will take but addressing the critical ones.
… these listed in 3PWD milestone in github
… not that long before another PWD could be done.
… communication across the subgroup working effectively even with work changes etc

roba: Key issue is how to handle specifications vs profiles - somewhat philosophical but needs firming up

annette_g: Things I was concerned about have been handled, generally, so we should move to another draft when its ready
… agree with priority as expressed by roba

DCAT

<PWinstanley> DaveBrowning: we have a 3rd public working draft being put out for wide review

<SimonCox> DaveBrowning: ED has had some tweaks and should be good to go to PWD

<SimonCox> ... need to decide how to proceed with DCAT work: should DCAT team continue to meet?

AndreaPerego: Need to collect implementation evidence - input from the wider WG is really desirable

<SimonCox> AndreaPerego: important now need implementation evidence, need feedback from all of DXWG

roba: What's the timing for implementation evidence?

PWinstanley: Will run through June, more than likely, possibly into July
… may be a period for some adjustments
… may go through August (northern summer)

Makx: Clarification of time line

PWinstanley: Starting wide review now, time for feedback etc
… so timeline runs into summer
… draft is stable

<AndreaPerego> [meeting adjourned]
