Discussed definition of long term scope

How do we describe AT that is included

Agreement that AT that rely on browser a11y tree is sufficiently broad.

How do we describe web technology scope.

Agreement that any web tech that uses ARIA semantics, that can be everything from native HTML inputs to custom SVG, HTML widgets, or DPUB.

Discussed which browsers ... long term any browsers that are important in the web development community and are usable with AT

This could potentially exclude some one-off, special purpose browsers. Agreement that is OK at this time.

General discussion around short term scope. What kind of phases do we need for project.

Discuss having initial exploratory phse and what that might look like.

One outcome of exploratory phase could be definition of later phases.

Initial goal is to discover the types of complexities that need to be addressed in the long term in order to satisfy use cases.

Jon has a student that is doing a study of menu bar and how well it works with several screen readers.

Jon will share with group.

Could be a good portion of the kind of work that needs to be done for initial exploration.

Next Steps

Matt to put up strawman of exploratory scope for discussion next week.

Jon to share his student's work for discussion at next meeting.

Next meeting on Feb 13, 2019 at 9:00 AM Pacific time.
