Satoko Takahashi: Position Paper

My name is Satoko Takahashi, from Dai Nippon Printing Co.,Ltd.

I would like to presentation at “W3C Workshop on Digital Publication Layout and Presentation (from Manga to Magazines)”.

I want to presentation this idea.

We are developing “Auto Font Alternating System”.

It is a technology that Automatically replaces font according to the topics and user’s feelings. Examples:

• “Tender words” > rounded sans-serif typeface.
• “Japanese topics” > Japanese calligraphy style typeface.

I think that the system can be used for digital manga and digital magazines. And it makes digital manga and digital magazines much more fun.

I want to hear attendees comment about this idea.

私達は、“フォント自動切替システム（Auto Font Alternating System）”を開発しています。

これは感情表現や話題に合わせてフォントを自動で変更する技術です。 例えば、

• 優しい言葉⇒丸ゴシック系のフォント
• 和風」の話題⇒筆文字のフォント

このシステムを、電子雑誌や電子漫画に活用することができると考えます。 また、これは電子雑誌や電子漫画をより楽しくする仕組みと思っています。

このアイデアについて、ワークショップ参加者のみなさまからご意見いただきたく思います。
