xml.com articles

Steven: This is the first of 10 planned articles.

ACTION-2207: Merge <signal/> into <dispatch/>

https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-xformsusers/2018Nov/0008

Steven: Not sure if we have anything yet more to say on this, but I'll keep it around.

Tree traversal

https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-xformsusers/2018Nov/0006

Steven: So Erik, you think the descendent method is sufficient?

Erik: You can do most with that.

Steven: Yes. It's not exactly easy, but at least it was possible. I was looking for useful suggestions, but not particularly suggesting new constructs.

ACTION-2206: Propose text for using mirroring for <control/>

https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-xformsusers/2018Nov/0010

Steven: You said Erik that you had something like this
... but using a new feature

Erik: It's not the single answer to the question, but I recognise the use case.
... and it's how we do it.
... I don't pretend to have a perfect solution, but it does make sense to support the use case
... Webworkers in browsers allows passing values by copying, not by sharing
... in our case, we want to pass a sequence of values. Passing nodes would raise questions
... using strings that get reparsed would make the separation easier.
... but you would have to avoid sharing memory space.

AOB

Steven: No other topics ready to discuss this week (XML Prague deadline week, so busy).

Philip: Next week I'm on holiday, so regrets.
