Thinking that went into v2 of logos

Heath: I read the feedback on v1; valid comments!
... I took some notes
... in the first three of V2 I play with WP
... I then explore more abstract shapes, around coins and wallets (and that can be animated)
... e.g., I would like to open the wallet
... but I can see more classic colors

Heath: Colors are variable; black and white shows what stands out
... Thinking more about duality: Merchants and Vendors
... 5 and later logos are more thoughtful on that front
... 5 is infinity / W
... with 2 colors
... 6 relates to stacks of coins
... what I like about this is it is almost like a globe
... gold at the center
... currency making the world go round
... 2 colors representing merchants / users
... 7 is simple; has "card" feel and "wallet" feelt
... 9 two wallets
... 10 bee-like; pollination

Eiji: I like B3 the most
... it looks good :)
... but if I had to choose a second it would be B4
... I think it is abstract and also familiar as a wallet
... I think the other ones don't evoke wallets for me
... maybe B7 with some modifications

Dean: The concern for me with letter combinations is both WordPress and internationalization
... for B4 I initially saw it as a letter box
... I like B9
... could transform B9 into a single wallet with some things inside
... I would not associated B10 (the bee) with payments
... so I would choose B9 but just one wallet

Eiji: I like B9 as well
... if I were to change B9 I would add a stripe to make it look more card-like

IJ: I like the idea of wallet imagery; opening wallet

"Opening up your wallet to the world"

scribe: suggests "potential" ; web (globe)
... combo of ideas of wallet + globe
... opening up your wallet to global commerce

Heath: One challenge of globe emerging from wallet is it looks like a person reading
... with B4
... my main concern is that it will read much smaller

Eiji: I like the direction of using a wallet
... maybe we can try different variations of wallet shapes
... and see if ideas emerge from those

Ian: +1

IJ: Do people agree with wallet? Is that useful guidance?

Heath: Yes.
... I can dig in and explore

With B4 I can look more closely at the stripe; play with colors

scribe: with B9 I hear interest in the angle
... and "one wallet"

IJ: "Things emerging"
... another is "embedded in a circle
... like a door opening
... into the circle (globe/web)

Watch words now include:

* Opening

* Global

* Wallet

IJ: I think it's a good sign that those feel closer to the work

Heath: Yes, opening doors to global economy; making it easy
... Any colors people gravitate towards?

IJ: B6 had "too many colors"

Eiji: I wonder whether "leather" color would help with connection to wallet

IJ: We should not use "green" for money; that's e.g., US-centric

Eiji: I also think that showing a wallet by itself doesn't mean it can exchange money
... it's like a "ledger"; by itself it does not suggest exchanging/giving/receiving money
... so maybe something additional to represent "exchange"

Next meeting

Can people meet on 18 October?

Heath: Let's meet sooner

Proposed: 15 October at 10am ET (same time as today)

<scribe> ACTION: Ian to send meeting invitations with WebEx links for Monday call

Heath: I welcome more feedback!

B5 could become outline of folding rectangle for more wallet approach
