TPAC Agenda - https://github.com/w3c/aria/issues/806

JN: if anyone have anything to add into the agenda, please do so

Charter Status

MC: Judy has some conversation with advisory committee and Judy will be scheduling a meeting to discuss it further.

JN: is it possible to have face to face conversation about it at TPAC?
... anything else on charter status?

Standing CfC to publish

* i got dropped.. dialing again

w3c process is require a trust of the working group to manage all the publications but it is not required for all new publications.

MC: w3c process is require a trust of the working group to manage all the publications but it is not required for all new publications.

JN: is anyone raising any objection to this or veto?

Incubation of aria-prefixed features outside our WG

<joanie> https://github.com/mhakkinen/SSMLinHTMLproposal

Joanie: we have this proposal to developing a feature of managing ssml via WAI-ARIA
... at this point of time it is part of APA working group but if we plan to develop an ARIA element then we need to take it in ARIA working group

MC: I'd prefer to work on separate prefix and if we decide to use ARIA prefix then we need to bring it under this group

JN: I dont see any reason why can't it be HTML feature?

Joanie: would it be okay to change the prefix?

JN: why not use something your own prefix and not using aria-prefix

MC: this is the approach that we use for personalization work

joanie: we have case when something got implemented and then group decide that this is not what we wanted and we got lot of push back with so many problems. we want to avoid this happening

janina: we want widest functionality possible. I this this is curb cut feature.

JN: we have actions to move away from aria prefix as of now

AccName Status

<joanie> https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-aria/2018Sep/0010.html

Joanie: we need to update the test results and move on. we need to updating the task and fixing remaining bugs.

New Issues since last meeting – Triage ONLY

JN: no new accName, aria issues.

Pending pull requests

<jamesn> https://github.com/w3c/aria/pulls?q=is%3Apr+is%3Aopen+sort%3Acreated-asc

JN: Role spinbutton: allow empty values, no min, no max, and structure with sibling steppers
... Option role: Change aria-selected from required to supported and remove default value

MK: there are specific people in browser world who could take it. Possibly James Craig, Alice, or Aaron.

JN: I think we could one of the browser vendor to review it.

Melanie: I can take it forward and review it.

MK: there is a possibility that they may need to change the existing browser code to add the new role. Anything that could potentially affect the legacy code. thats why I am thinking of making a formal request to review.

JN: I do not see Melanie at gitHub as possible reviewer.
... we will not do anything more on this one.

<carmacleod> Required attributes with default values: Issue: https://github.com/w3c/aria/issues/787 Wiki table: https://github.com/w3c/aria/wiki/Required-Properties-with-Default-Values

MK: spin button makes me think, if you intentionally want the aria value not defined. Some consistency here would be good. It will help having consistent behavior.
... we do not have consistency with undefined. undefined would mean that something is not expandable.

<carmacleod> Generic role and aria-textseparation attribute: Issue: https://github.com/w3c/aria/issues/699 PR: https://github.com/w3c/aria/pull/805

<jemma> bye everyone

<Harris> cheers!
