JA: Techniques that we need people to review. In GitHub, please indicate +1 if you're OK with it, and any comments.
... this meeting mostly pointing you to the pages so we can get them processed.

<wayneD> https://github.com/w3c/wcag/pull/387

<AllanJ> https://rawgit.com/w3c/wcag/tech-media-queries-grid-reflow/techniques/css/media-queries-grid-reflow.html

JA: Laura & Alastair good at herding them through

text box reflow

<AllanJ> with example page https://rawgit.com/w3c/wcag/example-css-grid/working-examples/css-grid/index.html

includes example pages to go along with them

scribe: good if you can put +1 in today if all works well
... First one, grid reflow, simple test. Can you zoom in & everything relow properly.

Wayne: First time looked at it, I was operating under zoom. Once put down to small, it does work.
... Looks really good.

JA: tried to use same page for long URI, but long URIs broke it. Not sure why. Unless long URLs break it unless you do it right.
... leave a +1 on 387 pull request

Techniques - Sticky Header/Footers https://github.com/w3c/wcag/pull/389

<AllanJ> https://rawgit.com/w3c/wcag/tech-media-queries-sticky/techniques/css/media-queries-sticky.html

<AllanJ> sample page https://rawgit.com/w3c/wcag/example-css-sticky/working-examples/css-sticky/index.html

JA: Anyone use the inspect tool then mobile view aspect of inspect to see what page looks like on mobile or tablet?

[Jim shows how it works...]

scribe: if that looks OK, go to pull request 389 and +1

<AllanJ> close item 3

JA: [overview of the failure technique]. Some discussion in AG mtgs.

<AllanJ> this needs a test page

SR: Is it ignored by OS settings?

<AllanJ> sr: is this ignored by OS settings

JA: Yu mean if set OS to large font, then if you use this would it make the font smaller? I don;t know. I can test that.
... it needs a test page. I might make one in viewport units so we have a page to test with.
... (It comes from people wanting specific control.)
... Discussed on Tuesday at WG telecon. Cooper said it needs more discussion -- not a CSS feature per se [Jim reads from minutes]

<AllanJ> agwg call minutes https://www.w3.org/2018/08/28-ag-minutes.html#item03

JA: anyone who wants to help with that, talk with Alastair

WD: Is there a use for this other than try to make a page like a piece of paper?

JA: Don't know why it's a useful thing?

WD: I'll look into it. Usually people do these things for specific reasons.

Techniques https://github.com/w3c/wcag/pulls?q=is%3Apr+is%3Aopen+label%3A%22Ready+for+initial+review%22

<AllanJ> open item 6

JA: Grid & Flex box -- both pages look the same, just use different underlying CSS>
... when scroll, behaviour should be similar. For both, I applied text resizing, and both still work.
... Laura, did spacing technique make it though, or still need more effort?

LC: Andrew was going to look at it and let me know.

JA: 386?

LC: 384 have enough people for sapcing override

JA: Will find issue for grid reflow so we can review and +1

Hover

JA: Been some work on it. Steve, need any input from group today?

<AllanJ> https://www.w3.org/2018/08/28-ag-minutes.html#item03

SR: Not sure status. Should look into background. I think were assuming couldn't do CSS hover and still pass dismissable. HOwever, I think need JavaScript, and that's OK.

JA: Would your technique work on a tooltip?

SR: Turn into a positive.
... Yes. anything shown by CSS hover selector. Trick is once move out of trigger, then have to reset the [display/visibility] variable
... Instead of failure, turn into positive technique.

<AllanJ> https://github.com/w3c/wcag/pull/450

JA: Yes, would be nice to turn it into a positive!

+1

other

JA: Anytihng else?

WD: Been copying & paste into sublime and works great with large text, intelligent word wrapping -- e.g., preserves indentation in code

<AllanJ> https://www.sublimetext.com/

JA: Other thing that does that is Word webview - zoom up to 500%
... Go forth and work on techniques!
