Works for me

<Judy> NEXT MEETING WEDNESDAY SEPT 12

updates on action items

JB: Captured in last meeting minutes
... My item was CAPTCHA problem, stated as Community Groups. That is not yet done
... APA is there time to for APA to check up on Community Groups, What did Jeff say

MC: It is somewhere on the horizontal review somewhere

JB: Maybe Coralie can help us get a link for CGs to update themselves

upcoming publications & announcements

JB: Are there any?

GK: Just passed the Publishing Community Group EPUB 3.2 opened a general review that will last 2 months
... Groups and the public is welcome to review

JB: This is a W3C Community Group. Is there any plan to bring it into a Working Group
... For a standard it will have to be published as a Note

GK: The spec will be a Note. The 3.2 spec just harmonizes the last three ePubss. ISO will be making it a standard
... There is a new Working Group has a Public Draft of Web Publications spec

JK: It is a really good working Draft. There is also an Audio and Navigation spec or profile that will work with AudioBooks

JS: Is this wheat Marisa'a Comm Group is working on?

GK: No. We do not have synchronized in web publications YET. Maris'a Comm Group is making recommendations to the Working Group for this Web Publications spec
... I know you are interested synchronized media in it

JB: There is an unmet corrdination for the digital publishing work as Jeff sees it. They will be reo-identifying staff to help with the Digital Publishing work
... I was worried by using the work Standard or Technical Report from Community Groups. CG dont follow adefined process and do not gp through horizontal reviews
... We are conservative in use of term standard, so this will be a Technical Report from the CG, or, if chartered by W3C under a WG, a W3C Rec or a WG Note from a WG

GK: I understand the issue with W3C. It is an ISO standard anyway at this point. People outside the W3C do not understand the nuances of these things
... We had ttaled about taking ePub 2.3 Note and taking it into a W3C WG to become a true Rec under yhe w3C
... Also in the charter is ePub 4, and the Web Publications is still a couple of years out

JB: I am aware of most of this
... Are there any further announcement that you want?

GK: No. We have different arenas into the public eye

MC: Maybe Graphics ARIA and ?? to Prosped Recommendation - there is a lesser possibiloty that the Accessible Name Computation will be going

JB: You are the primary on those?

MC: Yes. but not Personalization

synchronized

workshop watch: Permissions and User Consent https://www.w3.org/blog/news/archives/7176

JB: This workshop was announced, it does mention accessibility a little bit. Is anyone interested in this it will be in San Diego
... The papers are due by Aug 17th
... Can anyone track this?

JS: Talking with MC we got a list of very useful questions - that list should be done by Friday. So we are seeing who might have money or interest to go from APA

JB: Can anyone help get an accessibility presence there? It is best in the beginning at work shops it is very helpful

[revisiting] APA's Community Group update, liaisons needed for...

JB: We have had some discussion before, I do not want to repeat. But there is something to add

<Judy> https://www.w3.org/2018/08/01-waicc-minutes.html#item06

JB: These are the minutes
... Janina was working on math, chem, music,

GK: In Math we produced a Math book with Daisy working Group in ePub, and we are going to be putting it out there for ePub readers
... We are going to see how the testing does. We have approved another boom on Extended Descriptions uisng different ARIA and other technical to describe images with many techniques
... We are going to relaease all of that next week
... On the Chem side I have posed a number of question to the Web Publications working group. There is ChemML and CML which is very popular. I am collecting a list of name of people who are interested as well as links to best Practices
... We are trying to pul together a group, maybe a task force in the WG. I am just collecting the info
... I am talking about an ePub. It is a test book. ePubTest.org
... We test what works and what doesnt. These are new titles

JS: It sounds like I need to go look at what George is doing

JB: Others interested, or have questions or comments
... Maybe it can just be that takes a reading assignment before the next meeting

GK: I will send the two books and the Chem link to Janina

JB: Please also send to WAICC. You mention CML, it that the perferred langauiage

GK: I do not know, but they both are options. It may be that the techniques we are using for either
... Does this include music?

JS: I think so. There are some things, but we may need some kind of widget support out of HTML or something like that.

GK: There is a workshop on Oct 31st,, we wish you could come

[revisiting] common architectural approach/batching for math, chem, music, further comments on proposed approach?

JB: Check TPAC which is coming very soon. We are already into the rooms reserved. Hopefully we are in good shape. Hopefully you have your meeting rooms and folks registered. APA is meeting with other groups, are these organized? Do you have what you need?

<jamesn> .... ARIA is Thursday/Friday

GK: DP is meeting on Monday and Tuesday. Math meeting on Mon. APA, ARIA is meeting. We will sign up for the Publishing and signed up as an Observer for these other things. Is that the right way to go?

JS: That is what I am doing
... Now I am just working out the scheduling

GK: I am not chairing

JB: It is best if one doesnt sign up for many sessiona at the same time as an Observer

GK: I will coordinate the Digital Publishing folks to coordinate the related overlapping topics

Joanie: Does charter status impact TPAC in any way?

JB: There are two pending issue on the ARIA charter. We can get an extension to cover this topic. Joanie, thanks for this alert
... James have you gotten updated on the Charter discussions?

JN: Yes

JB: I am one of the point people on this. Anything else I should know?

JN: I dont think so. MC just sent and email draft

JB: Thanks MC

Advance planning for CSUN meetings

JB: AGWG might want to meet at CSUN, does anyone else?

MC: Silver may want to have a seperate meeting from AGWG

JB: There may be another event on Mon and Tues the week of CSUN
... We have a possibility to have some room offered to us - if we coordinate way in advance.
... When will Silver know?

MC: They will raise it, now I know you need the answer sooner
... I have not yet discussed it with the chairs yet, it is on my to do

JB: You are thinking about CSUN plans?

GK: Yes. Also Accessing Higher Ground. The Legal side that 2 day workshop also covers document and web - and pushing of docs into LMS
... We are coordinating with Annotations, while the spec looks accessible - the implementation are not accesssible at this point
... Unsure if we can get Hypothesis folks to come to CSUN

JB: I will check in with EO
... Has anyone been to the Anaheim location?
... Maybe at the Sept meeting we can let each others know about papers for CSUN

GK: We will be distributing the session program in accessible staringht HTML, Daisy and ePub (Dolphin, Bookshare, atc)

JB: Maybe as a Web Pub

Any WG or TF updates or infoshare?

JB: TPAC, those who are chairs of WG, there is a Chairs Breakfast very early in the morning on Tuesday Morning. It is often a good opportunity to share and network
... Any other updates

GK: We had talked about hekp in training for GitHub, to help folks be more productuve. Is that going anywhere?

JB: The GitHub training, I do not know if anybody is following up on that. I am tasked with making the UI more accessible

GK: Where are you remembering that from?

I have heard it often in AGWG

GK: The difficulty of use

JB: I feel it may have fallen off the radar

<Judy> [JB: Separating out GH usability vs GH training]

Bruce Bailey this week asked about training on using GotHub

other business?
