minutes of the meeting on 5 March

https://www.w3.org/2018/03/05-poe-minutes

benws_: nobody objected

ODRL Best Practices

benws_: suggested to make the BP a ODRL CG document - can be easily edited over time

<victor> I agree with Renato's idea of moving the document to the Community Group

renato: agreed to this suggestion - best practices can be reflected

victor: agreed to that as one of the BP editors

WG Closure

ivan: ok, then we should think about closing down this Working Group

renato: agreed, sees no open issues pending

benws_: asked for other comments

victor: when will CG meetings start?

renato: after this WG was closed, expects in 1 or 2 weeks
... he will launch a Doodle for finding an agreed time

benws_: how can the CG continue editing the existing BP draft

renato: sees no problem in moving the document to the CG

benws_: may we use W3C Webex for the CG call?

ivan: he will forward this request to the W3C management, it will decide, not he

<renato> CG internal email list: https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Member/internal-odrl/

ivan: the CG should have in internal mailing list to share WebEx data only on this internal list
... regarding the Github POE repository: currently a team of 8 members have writing permissions on it.
... is this what is required? He suggested to remove Serena and Stuart and Simon
... Most of the future ODRL work should be done on the repository of the CG

<renato> Best Practices now in the CG Repo: https://github.com/w3c/odrl/tree/master/bp

renato: has copied the content of the WG repository to the CG repository

ivan: some errata issues are still open

benws_: Most of the open issues are about the profile

michaelS: the current Profile Mechanism wording is quite strict - the latest discussion showed that the group has a wider view on that

renato: feels that a wider view should be written down

ivan: Such a change goes beyond an editorial change

benws_: all in the group feel that the current wording is quite open

ivan: might a changed wording result in a different understanding how a Profile may be defined
... what should be changed should be clearly written in the issue 300
... the current REC should not be change - the document may be updated in about 1 year

benws_: can the REC refer an erratum?

ivan: yes

renato: the ODRL CG will create a new wording of the Profile Mechanism

Note: the presentation of the current Profile Mechanism to IPTC people resulted in a quite strict understanding of what may be defined

ivan: what about meetings about ODRL - in about 1 year
... or workshops

victor: what about a workshop at the TPAC in autumn 2018
... he would attend it

<renato> The last ODRL International Workshop : http://virtualgoods.org/2011/

ivan: suggested to have a 2-3 hours face-to-face meeting introducing ODRL
... and suggesting a full day workshop in spring 2019

<renato> This was it: http://www.virtualgoods.org/2013/

benws_: Such a presentation should be made of short presentation about ODRL implementations

michaelS: He will retire from IPTC as managing director this summer
