<janina> /me Michiel, Joanie: We're starting the APA Web Payments telecon on this channel at the top of the hour!
<scribe> scribe: ShaneM
janina: just looking to organize
and define scope of the activity.
... how often do we need to meet, what actions should we assign
ourselves.
... we should get pointers into the various related documents
into these minutes so it can act as a good starting point for
any future participants.
... how often do we need to meet?
janina: what the API group is
doing now? Is there something there for everything that we need
in this space?
... we should also become familiar with the mobile a11y task
force output. Not clear if we need to add anything based upon
that, but there might be.
... not limited to desktop.
https://w3c.github.io/browser-payment-api/
(scribe was talking)
quick introduction to the documents described at the URI above.
janina: atomization of interface
elements. Might be requirements for making things more
efficient on mobile so tha tit is easier for people with ATs to
use.
... using a payment app in a physical checkout line, for
example, it is important that critical information being
exposed earlier than later.
LJWatson: A11Y was a
consideration, but there was pushback that this stuff doesn't
have any UI.
... we need to be careful to not fall to the level of form
fields need labels. That's not useful.
janina: yes. similar issues in the IoT space. IoT might not have specific a11y issues.
There might be a situation in payments that is unique and special, however.
janina: so we should really read the mobile a11y task force document to see if any of it informs.
ShaneM: interest group is looking
at ecommerce things. loyalty programs, couponing, other ways of
incentivizing consumers.
... everyone should be able to participate in those
programs.

ShaneM: review the payment documents from the browser payment api collection
janina: there might be other
pieces popping up in the environment and we are going to need
to extend scope to what come out of the IG.
... we might need to take into account the rest of the security
domain.
ShaneM: I think two weeks gives us enough time to review the initial documents.
janina: Do we need a wiki?
ShaneM: can we just put it under the APA space?
MichaelC: Yes, unless non-APA people participate.
