<scribe> Meeting: MATF subgroup on Clickable Objects
<kathleen> https://www.w3.org/2002/09/wbs/66524/20140512_survey/results#xq14
alan: related to WCAG 2.4.4 -
link purpose
... provide ways for users to find content and locate where
they are
... there are no usability standards for what makes a button
look clickable
... with voiceover, talkback it can be understood what the
function is.
Kathleen: you think that it is more a usability issue than an accessibility issue\
Jeanne: People with low vision and cognitive issues need this.
UAAG covers this: http://jspellman.github.io/UAAG/UAAG20/#summary13
http://jspellman.github.io/UAAG/Implementing-UAAG20/#sc_131
The Implementing document has more detail
We want to add to the Best Practices that the author has to code the page or app so that the buttons are semantically buttons, so their appearance can be modified by the platform or user agent settings.
Alan: Screenreaders need to have
the role announced
... it's not new, but we need to make clear that is applies to
mobile as well.
