To me, it represents a new frontier full of exciting opportunities for creativity and innovation. As an architect, I see so many solutions with Linked Data. 35-65% of our systems integration costs are due to semantic issues. The amount of people, data, and processes on the web continue to grow at astounding rates. More data was transmitted over the Internet in 2010 than in all previous years combined. Today, there are 4 billion connected devices. By 2015, there will be an estimated 15 billion. 50 billion by 2020. All this means that the market opportunity for better integration solutions is rapidly expanding and I believe that Linked Data speaks to these growing needs.
My company has been working on a product, which was designed with Linked Data in mind. We hope to provide valuable input into the emerging specifications based on lessons we're learning, but at minimum, we simply hope to align our product with the specs as they emerge and mature.
