The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) is organizing an HTML5 Tour across Europe from 10 to 20 September 2012. The guest speaker of the tour, Michael Smith, W3C HTML Activity Lead, will present the latest in HTML5 and W3C's Open Web Platform.
HTML5 is the cornerstone of the Open Web Platform that the Web community is building. The Web has become a critical global resource that is transforming all industries, including mobile, television, gaming, publishing, and health care. Forward-thinking industries are turning to the Web as the platform of choice for integrating diverse devices, services, and business models. As the audience for the platform grows, so does the need for interoperability among the many technologies of W3C's Open Web Platform including HTML5, CSS, SVG, WOFF, various APIs, and more.
The HTML5 Europe Tour (and Michael Smith) will visit Berlin, Budapest, Amsterdam, Paris, Madrid and Rome. Each stop is organized by the corresponding regional W3C Office.
The schedule is as follows:
- Monday 10 and Tuesday 11 September: Berlin
- Thursday 13 September: Budapest
- Friday 14 September: Amsterdam
- Monday 17 September: Paris
- Tuesday 18 September: Madrid
- Thursday 20 September: Rome
Almost all events are open to the public and free of charge. Find out more about the dates, the locations, the online registration pages and the events' agendas in the detailed program below.
