There is a rich area to explore that may be of interest to GLD members - but is clearly outside of our Charter scope:

There's some interesting prior art and some W3 member submissions for standards that facilitate round-tripping from XML/XSD<->OWL, such as 'Semantic XML' and related stuff (primarily from TopQuadrant) like SPARQL Inferencing Notation (SPIN) which acts as a kind of OCL for OWL Classes. There's also prior art from the OMG community doing MDA transformations in/out of XML/OWL, often implemented with just XSLT. This is something that I think the NIEM community needs to come to terms with, and may be an area that can be informed by other GLD practitioners, whose input and advice or experiences are of interest to the NIEM community in the US. -g
