The World Wide Web
Consortium (W3C) is looking for trainers to create and teach courses on
HTML5-based “rich-media” Web content including:
- Video/audio sites based on HTML5
- Design and development of HTML5-based games
- Graphics in HTML5 (SVG, canvas)
This is to expand W3C's existing training program as part of the Open Media Web project funded by the European Community's Seventh Framework programme.
Responsibilities:
- Develop course materials (lectures, assignments, ...) and teach the online course using Moodle-based Web site.
- Provide prompt and helpful support to students.
- Grade students' assignments.
- Maintain students grade records.
- Help with marketing the course to potential students.
Minimum Qualifications:
- You are familiar with up-to-date Web technology in "rich-media" Web sites, including HTML5.
- You have excellent motivational and organizational skills with the ability to work independently.
- You have excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- You have the ability to effectively teach students with diverse cultural backgrounds and life experiences.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in establishing training courses.
- Experience with online training courses.
- European Work Permit/VAT number.
Compensation:
- W3C pays trainers a fixed rate per student.
