<scribe> ACTION: Kai and Wilhelm to think about leading performance test development [recorded in http://www.w3.org/2008/07/22-mwts-minutes.html#action09] [DONE]
<dom_scribe> Kai's message on the topic
Dom: does that mean you don't think there needs to be work in this area?
Kai: I think this would be more
useful about networking performance testing
... but that's very difficult - depending on the network type
(EDGE, CDMA, Wifi, ...)
... pretty hard to distinguish between them and to make sense
out of it
Wilhelm: it's a difficult
area
... fairly easy on desktop - you can have them running on the
same hardware
... not always the case on mobile
... I still think this is something we should work on
... But I won't be available in the next 2 months for this
Dom: another idea I've been considering is to write tests to look for optimization on coding
Kai: I think Yahoo does a lot of
this
... It's an interesting angle - I'll take a look
Dom: OK, let's explore this further and see what comes up during August
Kai: maybe mention it in the announcements, too?
Dom: very good idea, will do
As a reminder, we will NOT be meeting in August, so the next
meeting will be on September 2nd.
