I am a Professor in Computer Science at the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin, associated to the LIRMM CNRS lab. My main interests include Semantic Web languages for ontologies and rules and their use in real world applications. I have been involved in several projects most often in life sciences (e.g; an hybrid system for annotating brain MRI images, the conversion of the Foundational Model of Anatomy to OWL in collaboration with the NLM, the conversion of OBO ontologies to OWL(2) in collaboration with Manchester, an architecture integrating dialysis and transplantation data in collaboration with the French Agence de Biomedecine) but also in other sectors. I feel concerned by the utility and deployment of the OWL language by users communities esp. in life sciences and industrial sectors.
