Native browser support
As of March 2017 the MIT WebEx instance has WebRTC support for some browsers. When this is available a link with link text "Join by browser" appears next to the 'Join' button.
The native browser WebRTC support does not require the installation of additional client software. It does require that you grant permission to share your microphone with the browser. If a camera is available you can separately choose to share the camera with your web browser.

You'll need to enable Java on your browser or install the Java plugin.
Warning: as of version 45.0.2454.101 (update cca. 1 October 2015) the Chrome browser seems to be unable to start up the WebEx client. It works from Safari and Firefox, though so, until this problem is solved, better us one of those two browsers.

For VoIP, you'll need to enable Java on your browser or install the Java plugin. This only seems to work with 32bits system however.
