[SKOS-DL-versionIRI] (10 Feb 2011)
It was argued that because the formal representation of the "OWL DL prune" of SKOS had no version IRI, it was (fixably) breaking a rule specified in the 2009 OWL2 recommendation, that "If an ontology has an ontology IRI but no version IRI, then a different ontology with the same ontology IRI but no version IRI SHOULD NOT exist". The following was resolved:
That http://www.w3.org/2009/08/skos-reference/skos-owl1-dl.rdf [1] be edited to add the triple: <http://www.w3.org/2004/02/skos/core> <http://www.w3.org/2002/07/owl#versionIRI> <http://www.w3.org/TR/skos-reference/skos-owl1-dl.rdf> .
This resolution represents a clarification of a non-normative part of the SKOS Reference recommendation. The resolved change will positively enhance the usability of the OWL DL representation of SKOS without negatively affecting the conformance of documents or software.
