Why is http://www.w3.org/TR/2010/WD-mediaont-api-1.0-20100608/#samplingrate-interface
the only audio parameter in that document?

Are there plans to include, for example, a quality parameter for
audio/x-speex?

Why does that section say "No exceptions"

I would like to formally object to the omission of an audio/x-speex
quality parameter from the API for Media Resource draft, and omission
of speex and vp8 from the Ontology for Media Resource draft.

We don't plan to introduce quality parameter as we want to keep a simple list of technical properties. To respond to your second issue about section 3.12.5 Samplingrate interface http://www.w3.org/TR/2010/WD-mediaont-api-1.0-20100608/#samplingrate-interface We have removed the "no exceptions" statements in the specification. The API doc stated "no exceptions" at a number of places (for the operations and also for some attributes, which is the case for the samplingRate). This text "no exceptions" was generated automatically based on the Web IDL descriptions. Since no exceptions are defined on the attributes in our case, this text appears in the document. We have removed these statements and added a sentence on the usage of status codes instead of exceptions to the beginning of the API description.; (Please make sure the resolution is adapted for public consumption)
