4.2.2 "Servers must include a Cache-Control: no-transform directive if
one is received in the HTTP request." Why? What does the
transformability of a request body have to do with the
transformability of the associated response body?

WG Notes: See: http://www.w3.org/2008/10/20-bpwg-minutes.html#item11 Final resolution: - ref LC-2041, LC-2080 and LC-2079, yes, we intend to move server behaviour into a non-normative section and point out that servers may wish to respond with no-transform if they think that this respects the intention of the requester and that for the sake of clarity use of 406 is clearer than using a default representation using 200 and the text "your browser is not supported"

Resolution: We agree and have moved server behavior into an "Informative Guidance for Origin Servers" non-normative appendix where we point out that servers should consider including a Cache-Control: no-transform directive if one is received as it may be an indication that the client does not wish to receive a transformed response.
