John Allsopp

Software developer, long standing web development speaker, writer, evangelist and self proclaimed expert, I've spent the last 15 years working with and developing for the web. As the head developer of the leading cross platform CSS development tool Style Master, and developer and publisher of renowned training courses and learning resources on CSS and standards based development, and author of the highly regarded "Dao of Web Design".

As a presenter and educator, I speak frequently at conferences around Australia and the world. I was involved in the development of some of the earliest courses in web design in TAFENSW in the mid 1990s, and have produced a number of respected, widely used standards based web design and development courses.

I'm a co-founder of the Web Directions conference series, and author of one of the earliest books on Microformats (publication date March 2007)

I helped bring together the core of what became the OWEA group at Web Directions North in 2009 in Denver Colorado, and am the initial chair of the XG.
