Last meeting minutes

Liaisons

Steve: I met with the chief architect of fixprotocol.org

they account for a large part of the banking transactions they have interesting use cases

Steve: their key interests are in MEPs, publish-and-subscribe, and binary attachments

Patent policy

<Scribe> Hugo presents the transition plan

Hugo: chairs should talk with their Team contacts about switching to the PP (strategy, timing, ...)

Jonathan: for description, I wanted to talk to the WG in 2-3 months

we need to be careful about any areas of a charter which would be unclear

Hugo: switch to PP only allows to change the IPR section

Jonathan: with XMLP winding down, they may not pursuue this solution

David: that's what I'm thiking about, but I need to talk to Yves

Steve: for Choreography, I don't see any emergency

Martin: until now, we've given the information to the WG, and haven't heard any push back; we sent the message that we would deal with it in the future

Jonathan: you should let the CG know when you plan to go forward

WS-Reliability spec review

Steve: we have been asked to look at the spec

David: we have a couple of people looking at the spec, but we haven't met last week

Steve: last week, it wasn't on the choreography agenda

Schedules for the year

Jonathan: in addition to the 2^nd - 4^th August in UK, we are looking at the 3rd week of September in Toronto

<davidF> David: XMLP still not planning any f2f this year

Jonathan: and we are meeting in May in NYC

Martin: published our requirements and are in the process of getting a WD of the language published

we want to republish the model WD as there have been major changes made at the last F2F we turned into a mode which is about contributions and issues

Jonathan: republished the WSDL 2.0 part 1&2 WDs

working on the HTTP binding; wrestling with a couple of REST issues

David: not much to report as we haven't met last week

working on XML 1.1 impact; we are leaning towards that at the infoset level, XML 1.1 and 1.0 are OK, and at the serialization level, XML 1.0 is OK our representation and header document is going to be submitted as a WD this week the participation in the WG slowed recently waiting to hear from XML Core that came from the XInclude / MTOM discussion

Carine: discussions around OWL-S and some contribution about FIPA

I18N effort

Steve: I talked to Addison Philipps at the TP

he would like to present the work that they are doing to get some input

Jonathan: we can have him come to this meeting

Martin: I'm surprized that this is the first time we hear about this work

Hugo: Addison attended a CG call after the task force had been chartered, but this is true that we haven't been in contact for a while
