Two Languages: XPath & XSLT
- XPath
- XPath Data Model precedes Info Set: later the WG "pledges" to use
Infoset for V2
- Primarily used for addressing, navigation, and conditionalizing
- Subsets used in many other Recommendations: schemas, digital
signatures, XForms
- Built on concepts of from other document processing languages
- XSLT
- XSLT 1.0 data model builds on XPath Data Model and adds base URI,
etc.
- Primarily used for result tree construction and output
serialization
- XSLT 2.0 Requirements emphasize grouping and multiple documents "in
and out"
