• Multimodal Interaction Activity started in February 2002
  Goal: combining several modes of interaction to access the Web:
  • input: voice, keypad, keyboard, mouse, pen, etc.
  • output: audio, speech, graphics

Issues to be addressed:

• How to use existing technology?
• What technologies are needed?
• How to cope with constraints of low-end devices?
