Conclusions
- Web Services and RDF are both solid approaches to building webized
distributed information system, but they are based on fundamentally
different modes of communication.
- Each mode is best in certain areas, but each can probably be
stretched to cover all areas
- We should either
- Develop the strengths of each one, and use whichever is
stronger in a given area (eg RDF for WSDL); or
- Pick one, to keep things simple. (at the risk of seriously
offending the other community.)
- Figure out a legitimate reason to only call RDF the "Semantic
Web"?
