| Mailing Lists archives improvements project

Requests for enhancement in the next update for our mailing list archives

Since the deployment of our new mailing list archives format in September 2003, the following requests for enhancements have been made:

• use UTF-8 everywhere (to make sure the content is always well-formed
• escape @ everywhere (not only in mailto: links), to make it harder to harvest mail addresses from our archives
• use <link rel="prev|next|content|..."> to make it easier to navigate in oru archives with browsers that understand them
• add a view with force-wrapped lines to make it easier to read mails from broken UA
• use links with the mid: scheme on message ids, to integrate them better in the Web
• review the UI for next by date/thread (order, position, ...)
• fix to the non-monotonic sorting by date (sending date vs reception date)

These enhancements may be included in a future work done on the archives, but no resources are committed to such a task as of today.
