<scribe> ScribeNick: Domenic

<dka> http://discourse.specifiction.org

dka: any thoughts about this discourse specifiction initiative?

Domenic: worth a try; worried it might fragment discussion away from "where it belongs," but it's much more human-friendly than our mailing lists

dka: that was my concern as well; I'm just getting used to doing work on GitHub.
... it doesn't seem immediately understandable what's supposed to be going on or not going on there
... it would be nice to figure out what we're doing here instead of having a bunch of disconnected conversations

Domenic: GitHub is open enough that people ask questions or submit comments on it, instead of using it solely to track bugs. So GitHub might subsume mailing lists as well as bug trackers, making the need to replace mailing lists with Discourse less pressing.

dka: perhaps we can find some particular thing to discuss that might be good to discuss over there, just to help participate in the experiment

stand-up reports

Yves: not too much. The charter of webapps has come up.
... I will send an email about the URL spec later today.

<dka> Request for feedabck on capability URLs blog post: http://www.w3.org/blog/TAG/

dka: request for feedback on capability URLs
... was hoping to get feedback from Jeni before publicizing/tweeting
... Alex will be able to get someone from Google working on EME to join us for the July f2f
... now is the time to start requesting guests if you have ideas

<dka> Domenic: updated promises guide - so could be incorporated into web animations feedback.

<dka> ... review appreviated.

<dka> ... need to make time to get the web crypto review process summarized. The review happened,it went well, needs to be documented.

<dka> (please add it to https://www.w3.org/wiki/TAG/Reviews)

<dka> Domenic: Anne has been circulating a list of things the web needs from TC39.

https://github.com/w3ctag/spec-reviews/issues/3

<dka> ... anne's requests for TC39 - actively asking for what else we need - if we have thoughts or want to track the progress we should input...

<dka> Dan: how is Anne collecting these thoughts?

<dka> Domenic: he's asking in whatwg IRC...

<dka> Dan: could we help to widen the broadcast of that?

<dka> Dan: should we make it an agendum at our next f2f - sounds like yes.

<dka> https://github.com/w3ctag/eme/blob/master/EME%20Opinion.md

<twirl> https://github.com/w3ctag/eme/blob/master/EME%20Opinion.md

<dka> [debate on EME]

<dka> Dan: I will try to drive consensus on the opinion draft on the mailing list.

<dka> [dan vents about non-attendance of stand-up calls]

<dka> Domenic: regrets for next week

dka: if you have any thoughts on bringing something over from the TAG to specifiction, i am keen to participate in the experiment

Domenic: I'll give it some thought...

dka: Brian asked me to bring up JSON form submission

<dka> Domenic: initial flury of interest and then realization that doing it right is hard - and in the end it suffers from "who wants to push this forward"?

<dka> ... so if Robin's willing to take it forward and we can contribute, then great.

<dka> ... it's worth pushing it forward.

<dka> Dan: I'll reach out to Robin on it.

<dka> Domenic: Robin should say "I think it should work this way" and we should be filing bugs against that.

<dka> adjourned
