UkGovPanelTools

There is a panel (UkGovData/Panel) of people planning getting UK Government data into Linked Open Data (and probably other forms).

The tools it will need will include

• An archived public mailing list
• An archived group-wide mailing list
• A wiki (or maybe use this one)
• A blog for announcements
• A web server with Webdav access for working
• An IRC server
• A conventional phone bridge.
• Some community ideas forum for public discussion, including an informal voting system for different gov data which people would like

When to comes to an alpha service:

• A web server with Webdav access for working
• Initial registry of sources just as RDF files
• An experimental web server for students to experiment with
• A SPARQL endpoint which can be filled with data available
• -- ideally the sparql server would be extended to support CSV output.

  -- Virtuoso supports CSV output format for SPARQL Query Results, so data goes directly into Excel, for instance. Ditto WebDAV and all other features above.

Down the road a bit:

• Community informal voting system for areas in which ontology alignment would be valuable
• Community informal voting system for areas in which data quality should be improved
