• Agreed - this is dealt with by existing schema properties (e.g. a Person can be affiliated to an Organization) - any additional properties on FictionalThing should be limited to properties that would *only* apply to fictional things --Owen Stephens 15:44, 15 February 2013 (UTC)

Another consideration is the need for FictionalUniverse where sometimes the FictionalThing is also a part_of one or many FictionalUniverse. In Freebase, we used FictionalUniverse to represent a separate concern from a BookSeries or FictionalSeries. However, a FictionalUniverse can be used to represent the same idea of a Franchise or Market that holds the characters, locations, and fictional works under a single Type. Marvel Universe (or just Marvel in marketing), Earthsea, Star Trek, Star Wars, Shrek, Hello Kitty, Dune universe (or just Dune in marketing), etc. Thad Guidry 13:53, 15 February 2013 (UTC)

I think we need to be careful about loading too many properties on to this, keeping it easy to apply. For instance, createdIn would reference a CreativeWork which will/should have a creator which would duplicate a createdBy property. Again I am wondering if a FictionalUniverse is not a CreativeWork in its own right that a FictionalThing would be createdIn or referencedIn. Richard Wallis 14:16, 15 February 2013 (UTC)
