Proposals for SIOC updates in next version 1.36
Add property forwarded_by
For Posts where there is a certain creator_of but a different intermediary.
GUANGYUAN PIAO 21 Apr 2016 Is it for "share" action in OSNs? Or can we use it to describe a post shared_by a user?
John Breslin 21 Apr 2016 Yes I think for shared by - like a forwarded email - maybe this is like a retweet... Need to think of various instantiations
Maybe have has_forwarder / forwarder_of?
Olivier GENDRIN 1 Mar 2013 What about forwarding part of a Post ? Or multiple Post in one single new Post ?
John Breslin 1 Mar 2013 I guess you could use dc:hasPart to denote sub-Posts of a Post? I think forwarding still applies to a Post rather than a Thread or Container, so that's probably easiest...
Add property respond_to
For the reply address set in email messages, IMs, etc. The property name was chosen to avoid confusion with has_reply/reply_of. Also avoids confusion with the term “reply graph”.
Olivier GENDRIN 1 Mar 2013 reply_adress ? reply_to_adress ?
John Breslin 1 Mar 2013 Adding address makes it email specific... Also am worried about reply as it will confuse with the reply stuff between posts...
Olivier GENDRIN 1 Mar 2013 Perhaps with answer_to ?
Add property mentions
For tweets, forum posts, etc. This could be used in conjunction with addressed_to in tweets. mentions could be a super-property of addressed_to.
Olivier GENDRIN 1 Mar 2013 And reverse has_mentions (mentioned_in ?)
John Breslin 1 Mar 2013 This may be a case where the reverse may confuse rather than clarify - has_mention and mention_of - it's not immediately clear on which side the Post and the UserAccount sits. It should be UserAccount has_mention [in] Post and Post [contains] mention_of UserAccount
John Breslin 27 Apr 2016 Thinking on this some more - there are three forms these can take and maybe you can think of others.
"@john Did you check out this?" -> clicking on a reply button and explicitly that adds a bit of metadata to the reply with the ID of the tweet it's in reply to, and therefore introduces the conversation option in Twitter.
"@john I saw this and thought it might be relevant" > just entered in the compose area, so talking to someone (or perhaps multiple someones) but not actually replying to any particular message. This could potentially be a reply to something that the user saw but the connection to which tweet it was is lost... BTW we created a property in SIOC to define something related to this -> addressed_to < that can also be used in emails or IMs.
"Hi @john" -> a mention.
And then there are the combos on the above that are both replies+mentions, addressed_to+mentions, replies+addressed_to (if the names are all at the beginning of a reply, e.g. "@john @tim @steven You should all know...")
Add inverse of has_discussion -> discussion_of
Add inverse of has_moderator -> moderator_of
Remove domain of ip_address
Description of property must also be updated.
Add property source
To indicate where a Post or Item came from (e.g. mobile, TweetDeck, desktop, etc.)
Olivier GENDRIN 1 Mar 2013 Not enjoyed by this.
John Breslin 1 Mar 2013 Too broad or too confusing?
Olivier GENDRIN 1 Mar 2013 Too out of scope in regard of SIOC ?
John Breslin 19 Jan 2014 sioc:client may be more meaningful, source could be confused with the source of the content - a person, machine, the original content URL...
Olivier GENDRIN 9 Mar 2014 Yep, would be better.
Uldis Bojars 10 Mar 2015 rss:generatorAgent is related to this request (though not sure RSS 1.0 is the vocab to use for this wrt. SIOC data). sioc:client sounds ambiguous. can we find a more precise label for this property?
Add property received_at?
Proposal to add has_receive_date, do we need read_at?
Add property viewed_by
Suggested by Melvin Carvalho. read_by suggested by elf Pavlik.
Change scope of has_host / host_of?
Change it from Forum to Container.
Add property likes
To indicate UserAccount / Agent likes (some form of endorsement e.g., +1, faved) the union of Item, Container, Space? and UserAccount. -Sarven
Sarven Capadisli 22 Sep 2015 Add: “Add property likes To indicate UserAccount / Agent likes (some form of endorsement e.g., +1, faved) …”
Guangyuan Piao 15 Oct 2015 We can also consider about the six new emoji that Facebook is currently testing in Spain and Ireland. http://www.joe.ie/tech/pic-these-six-new-emoji-reactions-are-coming-to-facebook-and-theyre-being-tested-in-ireland/514889
John Breslin 15 Oct 2015 Cool! PS see also http://web.archive.org/web/20141222060112/http://smileyontology.com/index.php?title=Main_Page
Add properties for CRUD
UserAccount created, read, updated, deleted Item, Container, Space? -Sarven

Need terms for Reputation / reputation?
Olivier GENDRIN 1 Mar 2013 Related to userAccount ? Would drive us to a full new voc., as we would have to track the origin of reputation (who, where, when, why...).
John Breslin 1 Mar 2013 Actually some people are creating a ratings extension to SIOC so this may be dealt with there... Includes user ratings
Olivier GENDRIN 1 Mar 2013 An extension to SIOC is from my point of view a full new voc. using SIOC (and FOAF, ...). So let these people develop their stuff and let's keep that out of SIOC per se.
Need a property sender?
Olivier GENDRIN 1 Mar 2013 Different of has_creator ? Is it related to forward ?
John Breslin 1 Mar 2013 I'll have to defer to Maciej Dabrowski on this one!
